Pay: Starting wage is $23.40/hour.

Hours: Work is full time, day shift is 7 am – 3:30 pm.

Requirements
Class 1 driver’s licence with air brake endorsement.
Valid crane operator’s certificate.
Ability to safely operate a tractor/trailer unit in city and highway traffic.
Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
Must be physically able to:
Climb up and down from a ±4 foot high flat deck trailer several times per day.
Lift wood components up to 16 feet long and weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Preferred Requirements
Experience in the transporting of wood trusses and engineered wood products is preferred, but not a prerequisite.
Job Overview
The Crane Operator reports to the Shipping Manager and works within the guidelines set by management.

Observing and complying with all safety rules.
Aiding in loading, securing and transporting wood trusses and engineered wood products.
Delivering product to customer jobsite and unloading with the use of truck mounted crane or roll-off trailer.
Performing trip inspections on equipment operated and loaded, ensuring safety and road worthiness.
Performing pre-trip vehicle inspection to ensure mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order.
Maintaining daily logs, inspection logs and other necessary paperwork.
All other duties as assigned by management.
Tools and Equipment Required

Safety shoes, to be purchased by the employee before commencing work.
Tools required to perform daily duties: hard hat, safety vest, gloves and other PPE will be supplied by Star Truss.
Working Conditions

Work is full time, on site. Work has exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and other occupational hazards, as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust.
