HCA Needed Immediately Morning Shift.

He I am looking for a personal care attendant available for casual to part-time work. Experience preferred. The shifts are from 8:30 a.m. I have a spinal cord injury, and I am on Self Managed Care (meaning that I hire and train my own staff). At the moment, I am looking for someone interested in working casually, but occasionally picking up shifts in the morning or the evening. Weekend availability is good. Positions will open up over time as some staff take holidays as well as some expected staff turnover.
Wage begins at $15 per hour, progressing towards $17 per hour with proven performance. I am located in the downtown area, (no charge parking supplied). Ability to communicate effectively in English is essential. Must be able to work independently and under close supervision. It would be an asset to own your own vehicle for transportation. I do live in the downtown area.
Must have drivers license, be very dog friendly and willing to occasionally work on short notice. You should have some cooking skills and know how to look after a household, including housework of all aspects (some minor maintenance skills would be welcomed). You should also be able to work independently as well as under close supervision and be adequately fit as the job does require bending, stretching and lifting. Please expect to learn all aspects of close personal care.
Job description includes (but not limited to):
• administering medications
• all activities of daily living, including; toileting and elimination assistance (using suppository), meal preparation,
• Bathing/dressing, transferring using sling and lift
• housekeeping, laundry, dusting, keeping stock of household products etc.
• accompaniment to medical appointments, grocery shopping and short walks.
