Administration Manager / Assistant Controller


Successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and supporting administration functions throughout the various departments at Island Floor Centre. As the largest provider of floor covering and tile on Vancouver Island, support to these functions is imperative to achieving high levels of customer service and operational success. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Learn our fully integrated industry specific application program. • Monthly accounting : – bank reconciliations, – GL account reconciliations, – government remittances, – work in progress calculation, – review accounts receivable collections and collection policies, • Assist a team of Project Managers with: – organizing material and labour for projects, – ordering material, – scheduling installation, – effectively communicating and documenting changes on projects with Project Managers, – invoicing customers, • Assist the Controller with: – testing and implementing new system features, – testing and implementing computer network updates and documenting and logging changes, – gathering and analyzing data on special projects, typically involving company purchases and supply contract, – Other projects as they arise, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • Completion of Business Administration and familiar with Quickbooks, PREFERRED SKILLS • The ability to multi task and have strong organization and analytical skills, • Accounting designation preferred, but not required, ADDITIONAL NOTES Hours Required: Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM COMPENSATION • Competitive salary • Extended health and dental available • Free access to exercise room • Financial assistance for professional development in a job related course.
