We’re looking for a new Tax Manager/Senior Manager, and we hope that search ends with you. Tax Manager/Senior Manager: In this role, you’ll be responsible for the compliance needs of the Wilson Group and its associated corporate entities. Working closely with the internal and external tax teams, you’ll support multiple distinct corporate entities and family members, each with varying tax compliance and planning needs.Practically speaking, you’ll be responsible for the following 3 areas:Tax Compliance* Prepare and complete all tax filings (e.g., Personal T1, Corporate T2, T106, T1134, Partnership T1135,Trust T3, Charity T3010 returns, Statement of Investment Income T5, US Partnership compliance, USCorporate compliance, etc.) and other forms, elections, and filings as required* Work with external tax advisors on all tax-related audits Tax Planning* Work with external tax advisors to provide tax-related planning for corporations, trusts, individuals andprivate foundations, as well as tax-related domestic and cross-border planning and complianceassistance to the Family’s Real Estate business (US and Canada)* Work with external tax advisors to review complex investment structures proposed by fund managers and determine tax risks, issues, and impact, as well as provide tax planning for various corporatereorganizations (wind-ups, amalgamations etc.) and share restructure* Work with legal teams (in-house and external) to ensure all tax planning is appropriately documented and implementedTax Research* Research tax issues for individuals, trusts, corporations and private foundations* Ensure up-to-date information on all tax legislationTo excel in this role, you’ll need to be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills as you maintain relationships with external advisors and communicate issues clearly. You’ll need to have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and strong accounting and analytical skills so you can advise the Family on options. You’ll also need to be eager to learn, entrepreneurial, a self-starter, and able to work independently. You are someone with a high level of integrity who can be direct, truthful, and discrete. Qualifications: * 4 + years of experience working as a tax manager or senior manager* CPA designation completed* Experience with Canadian personal tax compliance* Strong computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office suite including Excel, and TaxPrep software* Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, accounting, finance, or related field* Experience working in a large accounting firm (e.g., Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, Ernst & Young) is strongly preferred* Experience with Canadian private companies, and private company investments (an asset)* Familiarity with CCPC’s and tax integration (an asset)How to Apply:Our online application will give you the option to apply to this role as a complete person – not just a resume.
