Job Description:As our new Site Superintendent, you will perform supervisory duties in the field while ensuring exceptional standards in safety, quality and environmental stewardship. You will also be responsible for the onsite construction plan and will be working closely with the Project Manager to guarantee commitments are met on time and within budget. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Planning, organizing and managing field operations to achieve project objectives.Leading the team by creating a high-performance culture and a safe, empowering and productive environment.Supervising all sub-trades, suppliers and on-site personnel to ensure the work is being done within their scope of responsibilities.Reviewing and analyzing field and sub-trades performance to improve operations continually.Following processes and metrics that support the project control team’s goals.Managing and assisting the sub-trades by planning work schedules, determining manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements as per the projected execution plan.Serving as a knowledgeable resource and providing overall company leadership and direction.Monitoring contractors, trades performance, progress, and productivity.Coordinating plans with field inspectors to overcome any inconsistencies.Respecting the detailed guidelines of construction specifications, RFI’s, SI’s, budgets and schedules.Assisting in the creation and review of game plans and sequencing.Understanding and interpreting game plans as well as ensuring the sub-trades are supporting the schedules with daily updates.Working with the site safety team to keep the site secure and in an orderly state to meet or exceed Metro-Can’s safety policy and WorkSafe BC regulations.Ensuring the successful completion of the project by verifying it’s built as per the plans, specifications and shop drawings.Liaising, consulting and interacting effectively with owner, management, other trades, engineers/planners, project controls, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers on project-related matters.Coordinating site inspections with consultants and municipal authorities, including final occupancy inspections.Monitoring progress and addressing concerns by conducting weekly sub-trade meetings. More About You In order to qualify for this role, you will need at least 5 years of direct supervisory experience as a Superintendent in the commercial and residential construction industry. This experience will be combined with a college or technical trade certification in a construction-related field. You’ll also join us with a strong knowledge of high-rise concrete-built structures. Experience using Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office will be considered an asset, as is the knowledge of Procore, Bluebeam.
