With ambitious plans for growth across North America, they are busier than ever and now looking for a new Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join their growing team. Could that be you? What you’ll be doing As the new Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer, your primary focus will be instrumentation selection and process control design for integrated water and wastewater treatment plants and other related industrial packaged solutions. Practically speaking you will: * Develop process control automation to be shown on Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) per ISA Standards* Perform instrumentation sizing calculations for the selection of control valves, relief valves, regulators, flow devices, etc.* Develop Control Narratives complete with: control loop writeups with sketches, preliminary PID control settings, alarm reconciliation, Human Machine Interface (HMI) graphical requirements and interfaces with 3rd party equipment* Develop the Cause & Effect (Shutdown Keys) Diagrams for projects* Develop the Range, Alarm, Trips and Settings (RATS) List* Develop datasheets for all types of instrumentation including analysers* Develop Material Requisitions for instrumentation including analysers* Develop control system architecture for water/wastewater treatment plants, as well as a variety of other turnkey industrial process packages* Review wiring design of control panels, MCC equipment interfaces and systems design* Occasionally travel to project sites (1-2 times per year), for brownfield scope development, scope alignments, trouble shooting, commissioning and support* Participate in the factory acceptance tests for control panels and site if required* Troubleshoot PLC and SCADA/RTU programming problems with automation technicians* Partners with internal/external key stakeholders (e.g., internal engineering/design/fabrication teams and subcontractors and clients) to identify and resolve issues pro-actively and just-in-time* Deliver exceptional service to clients The very best in this role will bring more than solid technical experience. They will be confident in their abilities, but also not be afraid to admit when they make mistakes and then learn from them.   The Details This is a full-time permanent position based in either Langley, BC or Calgary, AB. If relocation is required, assistance can be provided.
