Job Description:ResponsibilitiesPreparing site safety plansSafety presence for required projectsConduct on-site risk assessment and enforce preventative measuresFacilitating and participating in site inspections, and implementing corrective action as requiredRegularly monitoring safety compliance of employees and sub-contractorsStop any unsafe acts or processesPreparing and conducting toolbox talksAdvise, support, inspire, and encourage staff on all required Health and Safety issuesInitiate and organize Health and Safety training for all company employeesReview project safety plans and packages prior to the start of projectsReview existing policies and measures and update according to legislationSupport the development of Health and Safety policies and programsRecord and investigate incidents to determine causes in compliance with WorkSafe BC regulations and our policiesPerforming other duties as assigned RequirementsMinimum Occupational First Aid Level II (OFA 2)Previous experience as construction safety officer is considered an assetGood knowledge of WorkSafe BC regulations, policies, guidelines, and standardsAble to think flexibly, and proactively solve problemsRespectful and professionalOrganized and able to multitaskKnowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practicesExperience in writing reports and policies for health and safetyProficient in MS OfficeDetail orientatedExcellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topicsMust be eligible to work in CanadaMust be fluent in EnglishMust have own vehicleMust be graduated from high school.
