Project Coordinator/Project Manager



Job Description:Commercial Project Coordinator We are a growing Interior Design and Construction company providing services for interior office space. We specialize in Tenant Improvement work and renovations for corporate relocations. We have an immediate need for a Project Coordinator/Project Manager that can take on project/site management, liaison with City permitting and inspections, and project administrative work. Must be an energetic self-starter with the ability to work independently. This position is based in our well-appointed downtown Vancouver office, as well as at various jobsites around the lower mainland. This position will report to the President and Executive Vice President. Outline of Responsibilities – Establish and maintain strong working relationships with new and existing sub-trades, office staff, clients, and landlords – Manage ongoing progress of projects through regular site visits and communication with subtrades – Deal with site issues, working with relevant stakeholders to identify alternatives and develop solutions – Complete document preparation, including building permit applications, project schedules, subcontractor contacts lists, purchase orders, change orders, etc. – Apply for city permits and coordinate all city inspections – Liaise with landlords, compile and present required landlord documentation, manage compliance with landlord construction guidelines, organize access to sites – Report on day-to-day construction activity – Ensure construction sites are kept clean and organized – Attend all key project meetings – Take ownership of, coordinate, and deliver projects on time and on budget – Project schedule preparation, coordination, and execution – Supervise on-site construction staff – Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders, including project members, clients, sub trades, and consultants – Promote onsite safety and enforce good construction standards – Manage projects with dual goals of maximizing customer satisfaction and project profitability – Seek out and qualify new trades Essential Skills – 3-5 years’ experience in the construction industry, preferably in the Tenant Improvement sector – General knowledge of commercial office construction practices – Valid driver’s license and own vehicle, as daily travel will be a component of the job – Good Knowledge of the BC Building Code – Demonstrated skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, and MS Project – Excellent people skills – Formal training in Project Management would be desirable You are… – A go getter – Highly self-motivated – Passionate about excellence in service delivery, quality, and customer satisfaction – Possessed of a keen eye for detail – A good negotiator – An excellent organizer and manager of your time – A natural entrepreneur Salary will range between $65,000 and $90,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
