About the Role The Marketing Communication Specialist will report to the Marketing Director and work with our small, but mighty in-house marketing team; responsible for communicating Metropolitan’s strategic priorities and telling stories that build our brand’s presence, while driving action across diverse digital and printed platforms. This role is hands-on, with active collaboration across the organization primarily between sales, product / brand and leadership. Within a culture of creativity and bold action, the Specialist will craft distinctive and engaging content, demonstrating our resonating focus and our value across the channels we own, earn, invest in and share. Your communications skillset runs deep, using information and insight to build agile plans with a clear line of sight to results. Essential Functions · Communications and marketing plans: define KPIs and quarterly marketing goals, create and plan to achieve those goals and measure success · Social media: plan and execute content strategy and brand presence across all of our social channels, leveraging press moments and ongoing insights to support sales and marketing goals · Email campaigns: produce and send the monthly newsletter and other email programs, consulting with stakeholders from across the organization · Brand Collateral: print and digital materials including brochures, catalogues, POP and presentations to support sales, marketing and communications goals · Photo and Video Shoots: collaborate with the Creative Lead to plan and execute on all assets · Research and Insights: plan and execute primary research, surveys, persona development, customer journey and update our marketing and brand teams and sales to inform decisions or support market and customer learning · Digital Marketing: work with the Director to create SMART digital marketing activities including paid search, search optimization and email marketing · Case Studies & Reports: work with Tech Services and Product teams to develop, publish, and promote case studies in consultation with key stakeholders and clients Applicant Should Possess · Self-motivation, with a high level of initiative and attention to detail · Ability to manage commitments across multiple projects and interact effectively with peers and colleagues to deliver on time and on plan · Outstanding writing skills and storytelling talent with a clear and relatable communication style that lands with impact among our staff, our customers, and our partners · A commitment to learning, professional development and relationship building · Highly engaged work ethic, demonstrated passion and genuine interest in truly great and rewarding work · Love of artistic culture, with an interest in architecture and art of design, an asset Required Education, Experience and Skills · Post-Secondary degree in Marketing, Communications or related field that relates the above, with a minimum of 2 years of experience · Exceptional time management ability and proficient with digital project management tools · Excellent writing skills; briefs, reports, presentations, ad copy and on-brand narrative · Proven track record of success and learning with past marketing and communications campaigns · Intimate with use of leading social media channels for marketing and best practice and ability to coach others · Previous work with affiliate marketing and vertical or lifestyle influencers an asset · Proficient with Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, Pardot or other CRM/email solution · Proficient with the design, collection and curation of information and tools, including but not limited to Survey Monkey, google analytics and SemRush · Expertise with Adobe CS, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint while InDesign, Photoshop or Lightroom is an asset · Willingness to actively participate in the betterment of our community, embracing the social and cultural impact of our work with Sustainable Harvest International and other charitable or advocacy organizations We would like to thank all applicants for their interest, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
