Job Description:GENERAL: The potential candidate must be a motivated self-starter with attention to detail and a strong desire to broaden their experience by tackling challenging problems. Ideally they possess a diverse breadth of knowledge in the areas of Linux systems administration, hosted applications, and networking. In addition, the applicant should feel confident working directly with customers. You will be required to take after-hours support calls on a rotating schedule. The position is primarily a systems administration/automation/product development role, building and maintaining server infrastructure to host applications, virtual machines, and network services. Some user facing support will be required, but is not a primary aspect of the role. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Maintenance of existing Linux-based server and VM infrastructure, including software upgrades, data migration, hardware selection, installation, and migration · Design and improvement of systems automation and deployment technologies · Management of all aspects of systems projects, including software evaluation, planning, documentation, deployment, and maintenance · Development of integration & management scripts, plugins, templates, procedures · Maintenance and expansion of systems and network monitoring across servers as well as customer network equipment · Deployment, maintenance, and support of customer-specified Linux services · Participation in the support on-call rotation for internal & customer network and service issues REQUIREMENTS: · Graduate of a two-year diploma program or equivalent experience · Broad experience maintaining production Linux systems and common software running on them · Experience maintaining a clustered VM infrastructure · Strong understanding of modern declarative configuration / provisioning tools such as Ansible, SaltStack or Puppet · Familiarity with at least one popular scripting language such as Python or Ruby · Good English oral & written communication skills and interpersonal skills ASSETS: · Strong networking fundamentals · Experience with a popular vendor‘s network equipment, such as Cisco or Juniper, or related certifications such as CCNA R&S or JNCIA-Junos · Understanding of modern version control and CI/CD practices for system maintenance · Software development training or experience · Experience with any of the following: ZenOSS, Netbox, VyOS/Vyatta/DANOS, ELK stack Company Description:Stargate Connections Inc. is a Burnaby, BC based business Internet solutions provider specializing in Cloud Computing, IT Hosting Services, Support and Systems Management along with Internet and Internet Connection Services.
