Position Highlights: As a Health Economist, you will implement health economic data collection strategies, provide expert level priority setting and resource allocation (PRSA) knowledge. Utilize your comprehensive knowledge of population health, health care and health economics theory, as you: * Utilize in-depth knowledge of strategic decision-making frameworks to evaluate and enhance existing resource allocation frameworks; educate and train Fraser Health staff on priority setting and resource allocation frameworks. * Develop guidelines for the collection of health economic data to support return on investment analysis; coordinate with relevant departments to support health economic data collection and decision-making in the health authority including Data Analytics and Research; aggregate and analyze large datasets and primary data using data science skills including programming with statistical software packages. * Use knowledge of statistical and mathematical methods to conduct frequentist, regression and model-based analysis to support health economic evaluation; create briefing notes, business cases and reports to communicate results of analyses. * Develop relationships with academic institutions to identify opportunities for strategic partnerships and collaborations including coop and graduate work placements; coordinate with academics and researchers from other organizations to conduct health economic research. * Support Fraser Health based grant applications by writing health economic analysis sections; identify opportunities of industry partnerships to pilot new innovations in Fraser Health. * Manage Health Economics Group by conducting health economic analysis to support external research grants and industry-based innovation applications Here is what we would like you to have: • PhD in Health Economics, Health Services, Health Policy or related discipline • Three (3) years’ recent related experience in a healthcare or academic research An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
