We care for the environment and communities we touch.Position OverviewWe are looking for a strategic, influential, agile, and collaborative leader who has a huge passion and proven track record for developing and implementing digital technology and business improvement initiatives within a global organization. In addition to your technical expertise and experience, you have a natural ability to engage with others and bring them along as we continue to accelerate on our Digital Transformation Program at Trevali.Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, you will lead the Business Improvement, Information Technology and Business Intelligence & Analytics sub-functions across the Group. As a subject matter expert, you will provide technical expertise to business stakeholders, recommend, and implement best practices to drive operational excellence and elevate our assets into world-class operations. You will also be accountable for delivering a unified technology experience to enable productivity and a low-cost operator proposition and to deliver a rationalized set of fit-for-purpose solutions and services. As a key partner to business and operational leaders, you will facilitate the creation of a comprehensive enterprise-level vision and strategy to enable improved business intelligence. As a member of the Technical Lead team, you will provide coaching and mentorship to the team to build our internal capacity and facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-collaboration across the Group.Job DutiesGeneralBe a role model to the team and foster a team-oriented culture that promotesan overridingcommitment tohealth,safety,environmental responsibility,sustainable developmentand operational excellence.Champion and promote Trevali values.Drive results and efficiency through good decision-making, action and change management, and strong people management.Key AccountabilitiesLead a high performing team under the Business Improvement, Information Technology, and Business Intelligence & Analytics sub-functions.Set up a business improvement performance management system with top-down target setting and bottom-up problem escalation.Maintain and continuously enhance the portfolio of improvement initiatives for the Group, tracking improvement performance by running innovation pipeline screening and scoping, creating and evaluating business cases, developing value driver models and measuring value generation of improvements.Define and report common productivity metrics to ensure consistent performance measurement and reporting of all Operations in a centralized reporting system.Design, build and drive overall strategy, methodology and roadmap for integrated processes, systems, tools, and capability required to produce and maintain our core data assets.Partner with the Group Leadership Team in determining business needs and based on that transforming it into system requirements, developing strategic direction and capabilities critical for success, implementing appropriate governance, prioritization, and effective sponsorship of digital technology initiatives.Oversee the management of enterprise services that are centrally delivered; delivering fit-for-purpose services for the Group and ensuring architecture planning and technical standards meet Group requirements.Oversee cyber security management, and lead development and implementation of risk mitigation protocols.Implement a suite of modern integrated core systems to provide a platform to standardize, centralize and automate processes.Implement data and visualization platforms to provide reporting on a real-time basis, with visual analytics for good decision making.Partner with operations and key stakeholders to leverage data and analytics to drive improvement to business outcomes around end-to-end value chain of enterprise.Is a change agent and leads change management process pertaining to technology adoption.Seek and evaluate emerging technologies and educate Group Leadership Team on potential new technologies to deliver higher ROI by enabling business innovation, efficiency and competitive advantage.Lead continuous risk assessment and critical controls effectiveness evaluation for the function. QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, IT, or a relevant discipline.Master’s Degree and/or Post-Graduate Degree in a relevant field is highly regarded but not required.10+ years of relevant experience in the mining industry, with 5+ years in a technical leadership capacity.Experience working in a global organization with multiple sites and experience working in operations is required.An established track record of providing service excellence and innovative solutions in a dynamic and agile environment undergoing growth and transformation.Experience working with long-term multi-million-dollar contracts involving complex risk.Proven track record in developing high performing category strategies that delivered sustainability, and value for money in a high complexity, high value, low volume production organizations.Experience leading a digital transformation program in a global company with multiple assets and different network / data architecture.Strong understanding and interest in digital technologies and how they drive business value.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesInfluential and team-oriented, with ability to engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve beneficial outcomes.Proven ability to lead, mobilize and engage a diverse multi-disciplinary team.Strong business acumen and possess sound and practical judgement.Possess knowledge and understanding of change management principles, methodologies and tools, and able to creatively apply concepts in different areas of work.Demonstrated ability to manage a large number of inputs and effectively prioritize initiatives on a risk / reward basis.Solid project management skills, with ability to empower cross-functional work teams.Thrive in a fast-paced organization and agile in adapting to the rapid evolution of industry and of technology.Creative problem solver with ability to mitigate risks, implement controls and solve complex issues.Proactive go-getter with a can-do attitude and thrives on working collaboratively with various teams in an agile and fast-paced environment.Analytical, thorough and data driven.Spanish and French is a plus but not a must.This position can be based out Canada or Southern Africa, with travel to mining operations as required.We wish to thank all applicants for their interest, however only those selected for further consideration will be contacted.Job Posted by ApplicantPro Job ID: 21745386
