Group Benefits Sales Manager


The Randstad Healthcare team is currently supporting the active recruitment process on behalf of one of our pharmacy clients for a Group Benefits Sales Manager responsible for developing new client relationships and promoting sales activity for the provision of pharmacy and virtual health services in Western Canada to benefits-providing organizations as well as directly to employers offering group benefits to their employees. We are seeking someone with a passion for healthcare and a drive for sales to join the team of a national pharmacy provider and become a valued member of their organization.

This Sales Manager will be responsible for working with the in-house sales team to develop new business and sell to qualified leads in order to create new partnership agreements related to the pharmacy’s medication distribution and virtual healthcare services as part of group benefits packages. Cold calling, business-to-business sales, and management of client accounts will all be included in the responsibilities of this Sales Manager in order to help drive new business. This is a hybrid remote role, with obligations for in-person attendance at the company’s office located in Surrey, BC, and all sales activity is currently conducted virtually. This permanent career opportunity involves full-time hours through the week with some schedule flexibility, but with the expectation that this representative would be able to attend meetings during regular business hours. The representative will be able to work on a hybrid-remote basis balanced between their home and an office located in Surrey, BC, but at this time there is no requirement to travel for sales meetings (subject to change based on business needs).

This role offers a base salary of $65,000 per year plus commission based on the onboarding of new accounts (the advertised salary range indicates the estimated potential total earnings for a first-year sales representative). There are also comprehensive benefits offered, paid vacation, a phone allowance, and an RRSP program offered after a standard wait period. All elements of the compensation and benefits package will be discussed in confidence between the hiring manager and the successful candidate.

A comprehensive training program will be provided by the company as a part of the successful candidate’s onboarding process, and they will work closely with the Group Benefits Manager in order to develop their knowledge of the company’s services and continue to grow within their role.

This is a direct-hire, permanent career opportunity, meaning the successful candidate will be on our client’s payroll from day one.

– Becoming an expert on the company’s product offerings and their benefits to be able to effectively communicate their advantages and conduct sales
– Identifying and qualifying potential new business opportunities and approaching directly to engage in sales activity
– Responsible for completing a specific volume of activity (calls, visits, etc.) to attain targets/goals and maintaining information in a CRM database
– Managing accounts once onboarding to ensure continuous client satisfaction and triaging concerns as they arise
– Other duties as may be required to support your success

– An ideal candidate has at least 1-2 years of experience in sales, ideally in a healthcare setting
– Education: College or university education or equivalent work experience (ideally in business or a science/healthcare-related field; new grads welcome).
– Candidates must be technologically-savvy and have some experience in use of a CRM or sales database
– Access to a functional home office, reliable internet and possession of a functional cell phone and computer is required
– Outstanding relationship-building skills and interpersonal skills
– Organized, with effective sales planning skills and the drive and passion to persevere to support sales
– Strong written, verbal and computer skills are required (Microsoft Office Suite)
– Positive outlook with a strong work ethic required
– Deadline-oriented and strong prioritization skills a must
