Experienced Medical Office Assistant (22-24$/hr with benefits)


We are a busy Obstetrics and Gynaecology clinic in Langley seeking an experienced Medical Office Assistant to start in June/July 2021. Unfortunately, this posting is not suitable for those without experience at this time.

A successful candidate should demonstrate the following:

• Be empathetic and compassionate
• Be able to take initiative to identify clinic/patient needs and implement improvements
• Familiarity with Accuro EMR, OR booking or MSP billing is advantageous

Work hours will be from 8:30-4:30 PM Monday to Friday with the expectation of working through a paid lunch break.

• Starting at $22-24 per hour based upon experience with yearly raises

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Greeting and registering arriving patients in a prompt, pleasant and helpful manner
• Booking, co-ordinating, and rescheduling patient appointments
• Maintaining and updating information on daily physician schedules and OR bookings
• Aid in submitting billing and reconciliation with MSP
• Overseeing the general waiting area and coordinating patient flow
• Answering incoming calls, routing calls to the appropriate area, taking and relaying messages, communicating general clinic information, and responding to emergency calls according to established procedures
• Ensuring that all necessary patient information is present in patients’ electronic charts for daily scheduled appointments (i.e. lab results, imaging, growth charts, etc.)
• Directing patients into examining rooms and tidying examination rooms after use
• Preparing and processing outgoing correspondence (i.e. consult and follow-up letters, referral letters, prescriptions etc.)
• Scanning incoming correspondence arriving by mail or fax into patient electronic charts, and triaging for physician review
• Ordering and re-stocking office and clinical supplies
• Assisting in the care and maintenance of office equipment
• Maintaining patient confidentiality
• Performing daily opening and closing office procedures
