ACCOUNTING & ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

B.C. Rentals, BC’s longest established and most respected equipment rental, sales and service provider, currently has an opportunity for an experienced Accounting and Administrative Assistant to join our team based at our Richmond Head Office location.

Primary duties include:

– Accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, credit account applications and credit limits
– QuickBooks entries and financial statement preparation
– Maintain general ledger, post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts
– Payroll
– Complete and submit tax remittance forms, WorksafeBC documents, pension contribution forms, and other government forms
– Prepare weekly management reports and other reports as required
– Prepare cheque runs
– Review vendor invoices for accuracy and ensure proper customer billings
– Prepare yearly budgets
– Manage accounts receivable to ensure on-time collections from customers
– Liaise with operational staff, external IT department, and outside accountants
– Enter and prepare payment for all utility bills and expense reports
– Ensure all filing deadlines are met and all reporting requirements fulfilled
– Manage fleet and general insurance
– All other duties as required

The successful applicant will possess the following demonstrable skills and experience:

– Accounts receivable, collections and payables
– Experienced in QuickBooks, MS Office and Excel
– Financial reporting and budgetary planning
– Ability to quickly learn both the day-to-day operations of our business and that of our customers’ requirements
– Ability to multitask
– Excellent analytical abilities
– Excellent customer service skills
– Strong organizational and time management skills
– Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
– High level of attention to detail and accuracy
– Excellent communication skills both oral and written
– Computer skills
– Self-motivated with positive attitude
– Valid driving license and transportation as public transit is not available

Post-secondary education in accounting or a related field is considered an asset as would familiarity within the equipment, construction or related industries.

Hours of this position are Monday through Friday 8.00am till 4.30 pm
