Roofing labouring is a tough job that pays more than any job that requires minimal experience. so long as you are hungry and willing to put in WORK.
This job is not for everyone or the feint of heart. If youre looking for an easy job this is NOT it.
As a seasonal job We do not work during night time/rain days/extreme cold hot weather.
Therefore we try to get as many hours as we can. 40-60hours* depending on weather conditions it could be as low as 25-30hrs per week.
The job consists of moving roof tear off into the bin. Moving roof materials and tools to different sections of the area we are working on.
Knowledge of common tools is an asset as well as a Valid Working at Heights Certification.
This is a fast paced job constantly moving which to your benefit time tends to fly by.
Roofing is a very challenging trade however if you are able learn the skills quickly you can move up just as quickly as your capable of doing so.
The goal is to aim to become a shingler and get paid $35/h. Afraid of heights? the Top ground worker (can setup grounds on their own) can make up to $25/h without coming up on the roof.
Having read all that, if you are a hungry individual that’s tired of working at minimum or low paying jobs, AND is willing to put work in, you wont be disappointed when the $$$ start coming in!
