Quanto Basta is a busy Italian neighborhood restaurant. We are looking for a part time garde manger. (Sunday-Wednesday)
Full Job Description
Job Purpose: To aide in the preparation of appetizers , salads, sandwiches and/or other foods.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work with co-workers and senior team members seamlessly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
2. Have good communications with your co-workers and supervisor and discuss any changes or issues as they arise
3. Prepare food items, as per Company standards and training
4. Read, understand and execute food order bills posted in the kitchen
5. Be cognizant of your work space, cleanliness, safety, and cross-contamination of ingredients
6. Work with a wide range of kitchen utensils safely (as per training) while following all health and safety practices and procedures
7. Tasks aside from regular food prep, may include but is not limited to:
· Ensuring leftover food is properly stored;
· Performing kitchen maintenance tasks;
· Packaging food appropriately for storage and/or shipping;
· Testing the temperature of food at specific times
8. Open to new experiences and on-the-job training while accepting constructive criticism, in a high-pressure work environment
9. Recognize and operate in the structure and hierarchy of the kitchen environment, as a crucial member to the overall success of the kitchen and the Company
10. Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance,
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Handle stress well
* Good interpersonal skills, working well in a team
* Dynamic, Ambitious and Creative
* Attention to detail and accuracy, including able to take direction well
* Some kitchen experience, inherent interest in food and the service industry
* Good problem solving abilities
* Desire to learn and develop chef skills
* Ability to take responsibility for their actions and pay attention to detail
* Good communication skills in both verbal and written
* Willingness to learn and take on extra responsibilities as required
