Chef de Cuisine

Best Restaurant Group is now hiring a Chef de Cuisine to head its newest project in Toronto on Bloor and Dufferin under Executive Chef Dany Bolduc.

The candidate hired will be in charge of the project on a day to day basis which will include the opportunity to hire their own team, put in place their own procedures and work with their suppliers in a newly renovated state of the art kitchen while reporting to ownership and Executive Chef Dany Bolduc.

The Position

The candidate will be mandated with the following duties:

Ensuring that all food meets the highest quality standards and is served on time.
Develop relationships with suppliers
Coordinating kitchen staff, and assisting them as required.
Hiring and training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.
Schedule management.
Stocktaking ingredients and equipment, and placing orders as needed.
Manage inventory
Help develop training manuals, kitchen procedures, checklists and systems
Run a zero waste and green kitchen
Meet labour and food cost percentage goals
Enforcing best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen.
Incorporating feedback from restaurant staff and patrons to make improvements or resolve issues.
The Candidate Qualifications

The Candidate should have the following qualifications

Qualification from a culinary school.
5+ years experience in a similar position.
In-depth knowledge of food principles and best practices.
Passion for creating incredible food that delights and attracts customers.
Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities.
Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
Creative, innovative thinking.
Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health and safety.
Experience managing inventories and stocktaking.
Available to work on call, shifts, after hours, over weekends and on holidays.

Compensation

The compensation package is to include but not be limited to:

$60,000 – $75,000 base salary (based on experience and skill level)
Bonus structure that would include profit sharing and potential for junior partnership within 3 years.
3 weeks paid vacation
