Business Development Manager


Randstad’s Healthcare Clinical & Management Division is currently supporting one of clients operating a blood donor centre in Vaughan, ON in their search for a Business Development Manager to help drive blood & plasma donations and lead initiatives to increase community involvement and participation in York region. This role is a hybrid remote/in-office role with responsibilities centred around engaging with potential donors and prospecting additional demographics/community groups to help maintain a consistent donorship for their facility and allow them to support the company and their clients’ needs for plasma and blood supply. The ideal candidate for this role is someone with experience in a business development or sales-oriented role with a passion for healthcare and strong ties to the community who is willing to think outside of the box and go the extra mile to raise awareness and contribute to the donor centre’s operations. This permanent career opportunity offers full-time hours and starting base salary of 72,000 in addition to quarterly bonus incentives (the salary range indicated in this posting reflects the expected total take-home earnings for a person in this role after one year, with potential to exceed this range with strong performance) . Typical working hours for this role are from 9-5, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility required as per business needs. This role also includes benefits, a pension program and a car allowance and travel reimbursement as per company policy. Competitive vacation entitlement is also offered. This is a direct-hire, permanent career opportunity, meaning the successful candidate will be on our client’s payroll from day one.

– Use of business development techniques such as referrals, networking, hosting events and cold-calling to generate donations
– Creation of a strong action plan and continuous reevaluation of techniques and results both independently and in collaboration with the support team
– Formation of strong partnerships with key community contacts to drive donor participation
– Conducting information sessions and community engagement events to reach new prospective donor populations
– Promoting a positive image of the organization and of the donor centres at all times
– Working with the on-site team to ensure an exceptional donor experience

– The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in a role focused on sales or business development
– Degree in business administration, marketing or a healthcare-related field is preferred
– Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and a high comfort level in public speaking is required
– Candidate must own their own vehicle
– Experience in media or public relations is an asset
