Baker needed

Woman-run and driven business in the east end (@bodegahenriette) looking for a new baker to take charge of this section of the business, which includes supporting our bakery counter, bakery events, and our retail line of frozen bakery goods.

We are looking for a candidate who can uphold the same standards in a day-to-day work setting, has a passion for what they do, and is excited about the possibilities of growing a newer area of our business, in partnership with managers and other organizational members. Looking for an individual who is comfortable executing high volumes of product on a weekly basis, and who works well alone, as well as in a team. A general level of comfort with Inventory and ordering is ideal, as this sector of the business is very self sustaining.

ROLE:
– Inventory and ordering
– Bulk prep of retail items
– Daily bakery output
– Ensuring cleanliness standards
– Creating and executing new products
– Ensuring quality standards are met and maintained
– Executing special event output for holidays
– Packaging of retail items

INDIVIDUAL:
– Has food handlers certification
– 2 years baking experience
– Is a self-starter/motivated
– Has strong interpersonal skills and communication capabilities
– Is excited about growth and new potential
– Self-manager

*** This is currently a 1 person department, so this individual will be working alone regularly in our test kitchen ***

IS PROFICIENT WITH:
– Viennoiserie from frozen dough which need to be assembled, proofed and baked
– Cookies, scones, cinnamon buns, muffins, pies, quick breads, cakes, empanadas, etc from scratch
– fillings, frostings etc from scratch
– decoration with icing and frosting
– costing
– recipe development
