Senior B2B Food Ingredient Sales Specialist



Job Description: The David Aplin Group, one of Canada’s 50 best-managed companies has partnered with our client, the largest processor of food-grade flax and hemp seeds in North America, in search of a Senior B2B Ingredients Sales Specialist. This is a remote position with a home-based office and travel as required. The Role:Business development efforts with existing and prospective accounts including, but not limited to, new product opportunities and strategic initiativesWork with product technical support colleagues to support new sales opportunities and to address customer issues or concernsDemonstrate strong product and technical expertise along with sound market knowledge of products and markets in North America and possibly EuropeEmploy a consultative sales approach that focuses on building long-term, strategic relationships with account’s key decision-makers, penetrating their business further.Maintain a clear updated view of your sales pipeline; actively build sales opportunity pipeline to exceed targets and drive opportunities from initial identification and qualification to sales fruition and closure.Build effective proposals, based on customer needs, consumer insights, and the customer’s decision criteria.Support and grow existing platforms and identify new categories where value-added products can be createdProvide innovative, customer-focused ideas to key clients by understanding their brands, platforms, and strategies.Effectively work across multi-functional teams (including R&D, Marketing, and Operations) within the organization to promote and deliver best-in-class service.Stay connected to industry trends and developments by attending trade shows, training sessions, conventions, and industry best practicesThe Ideal Candidate:Results-oriented, strong individual contributor, collaborator, and team player10- 15 years of experience and expertise in technical sales or business development with at least 5 years in the food ingredient industry required Post-secondary education in Science, Nutrition or BusinessR&D experience is a benefit Strong experience working with food manufacturers, pet food, and commercial bakeries preferredCreative, value-proposition and consultative selling, and excellent customer management skills requiredAbility to thrive working independently as well as part of a team Eagerness to be a leader, influencer, and activator with internal and external key stakeholders from the first day on the jobIf you are interested in this position and meet the above criteria, please click the Apply button to send your resume in confidence directly to Deborah Sutherland, Consultant, Sales & Marketing.
