Duties and Responsibilities: Build, install and provide maintenance to Windows desktops and hardware peripherals at the Parkland Regional Library Headquarters and Branch libraries. Support and configure the Regional Libraries’ Headquarters and Branch library LAN infrastructure. Identify, log and resolve technical issues with software applications or network systems. Provide advice, guidance and training to colleagues regarding hardware and software issues. Identify potential changes and system improvements to the Regional Director. Negotiate potential hardware and software purchases with IT vendors.
Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of the Windows operating system. Knowledge of the administration and maintenance of Local Area Networks. Excellent communication skills. Experience in effective desk help operations. Knowledge of the public library system.
Qualifications: Diploma in Computer Technology from a Technical Institute or Polytechnic. Certification in Computer Hardware/Software (A+, Microsoft or Cisco). Two years or more of relevant desktop, LAN support or help desk experience. Valid Class 5 driver’s license. Criminal record check including vulnerable sector.
