The Water Security Agency (WSA) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team. In this position, you will work directly with stakeholders, contractors, and Qualified Persons, to operationalize the Agricultural Water Management Strategy and related programs and services. This position will be focused on taking a client-based collaborative approach to the regulatory functions of facilitating drainage applications and approvals. These activities are fundamental to the achievement of critical and high-level operational priorities for WSA and the support of the agricultural industry in Saskatchewan.
In this position, you will lead a team of technical staff and you will require technical, administrative and supervisory expertise and a demonstrated ability to apply a high degree of judgement and discretion in a variety of uncertain situations, some of which are unclear, challenging, and conflicting.
You will work among a diverse and passionate team of professionals, both internal and external to WSA, in the fields of engineering, water quality, ecology, law, sociology, public policy, and local governments that are leading this exciting challenge in our province.
The successful candidate will possess a Diploma in Agriculture, Environmental or Engineering Technology related program. Eligibility for certification with a relevant Professional Association. A Degree in a related field is considered an asset. 8 years of progressively more responsible management experience involving agriculture, water/environment, and stakeholder relations is required.
