Seeking Estimator/Project Manager for local disaster restoration contractor. Job duties involve photographing & documentation of damages, measuring on site and preparing estimates for mitigation and repairs to residential and commercial properties. The role also involves managing the repair process and communicating with the end user as well as building and maintaining relationships with insurance adjusters and subtrades. The estimates are primarily for residential buildings/properties and typically include damages caused by fires, water, vehicular impact, vandalism and wind/storm damage. Other services that we provide include mold/asbestos abatements as well as general renovations, involving kitchens/bathrooms etc.
In order to succeed at this role you must have a background in construction (preferably some estimating experience), strong communication skills, great customer service and interpersonal skills, ability to handle heavy workload at times and to work well and maintain a calm demeanor under pressure. A drivers license is required as this position involved driving to job sites on a daily basis. Strong computer skills are also required as the estimates must be completed using industry standard estimating software. Experience with Microsoft Office software and Microsoft Outlook would also be required. Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally, in English (Bilingualism would be an asset). Any certification in asbestos, health and safety, first aid and particularly IICRC accreditation, would be an asset. A reasonable degree of physical fitness is required as you will be expected to climb ladders occasionally and to walk or stay on your feet for extended periods of time. As we provide a 24/365 emergency service, you will be expected to participate in an on-call rotation.
