Ottawa Osteopathy & Sports Therapy is currently looking for a full-time manual physiotherapist to join our team. We are looking for the right candidate to assist with patient overflow and build a full time practice. We currently have a wait list for physiotherapy patients.
Over the last ten years, our clinic has built a well-respected reputation within the Ottawa community. We have established relationships with family practitioners, multi-practitioner medical clinics, sport medicine physicians, allied health care practitioners and a very large referral base of existing patients.
The clinic staff are involved with educational programming with the University of Ottawa’s Sport and Exercise Medicine Program (teaching spine assessment in sport medicine), have spoken at provincial and national, medical and allied health conferences and been part of many Canadian medical teams for national and international sport events.
Working within a multidisciplinary treatment model, we encourage collateral learning from other practitioners and hold in-clinic all-staff meetings to review recent research, manual therapy techniques and assessment protocols. Our practice provides quality, personalized services in the areas of injury prevention, treatment and improved performance in sport. A significant portion of our patients also consult for chronic pain, post-surgical rehabilitation, concussions, pre-post-natal care among the usual orthopedic musculoskeletal conditions.
Our clinic provides osteopathy, physiotherapy, athletic therapy, massage therapy, kinesiology, running assessments and strength and conditioning. We have private treatment rooms, high quality adjustable tables, a rehabilitation gym, and a full service reception to handle scheduling, billing and provide administrative support. We offer an educational allowance, guidance for continuing education, remuneration commensurate with skills and experience and a rare opportunity to refine your manual palpation and manipulative skills. We have a well-established demand for physiotherapy.
The ideal candidate:
You should have a passion for learning and focus on delivering structured patient appointments which exceed patient expectations. You should be self-motivated, have the habit of educating patients and providing measurable outcomes using evidence-based methodologies. You understand that given the right tools, you can foster lasting relationships with patients and repeat referrers. You possess a positive attitude, respect your colleagues and contribute to team efforts as needed.
We require a minimum of 2 years full time practice in orthopedics with experience in sport injuries. Bilingualism would be ideal but is not required. Sport physiotherapy certificate or diploma would be an additional asset but is not required.
