Job Description:MANAGER OF IT – DATA CENTERS – TORONTO OR MONTREAL – WORK REMOTELY. MUST SPEAK ENGLISH AND GOOD CONVERSATIONAL FRENCH IN ORDER TO WORK EFFECTIVELY WITH CLIENTS. Our client is a fast growing cloud company focusing on managing and operating business critical systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) requiring high availability, secure, predictable environments. The environment fosters learning new technologies and provides opportunities for growth across systems, cloud, cyber-security, and networking. The Manager of IT will be required to spend a good amount of time in video conference sessions, and travel across Canada and the US once Covid is over. This role involves a lot of accountability to company clients; you are, in effect, the Virtual CIO, providing executive level guidance for IT. In broad terms, your job duties will include advising your firm and clients on technology, infrastructure, management, and productivity as they relate to their information technology capabilities. This newly created position reports directly to the CEO and will be responsible for all aspects of the operation across the Company’s data centers and secure hosted private cloud environments. LOCATION: Toronto or Montreal. This position is remote. The company has offices in Toronto and Montreal. RESPONSIBILITIES: Be an overall technology expert who provides the right solution for clients on servers, security, support, laptops, Wi-Fi, POS, BI, AI, Microsoft 0365 Cloud-Based Service. Create proposals with detailed scope of work. Act as a technical Program Manager: Dissect client on boarding and projects to get clear SOW (Statement of Work) for all. Assign and track employees with clients. Participate in product management activities. Define descriptions, pricing, and support. Troubleshoot and resolve problems as required and serves as one of the highest levels of escalation. Clearly communicate with peers and end-user clients during troubleshooting, planning, environment migration and more. Help define, improve, document, and promote an architecture and designs based on ITIL “best practices”. Develop relationships with professional organizations, user groups, and industry trade groups to stay current with latest technologies. REQUIREMENTS: Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience. 5+ years experience in virtualized technology infrastructure design, implementation, and troubleshooting Areas of knowledge: Azure and/or AWS expertise, knowledge of SANs, O365, Linux, Cyber-security products and tools. Knowledge of ConnectWise would be an asset. Bilingual in French and English required for this role. Certainly requires fluency in English and good conversational French. COMPENSATION: Salary will be commensurate with experience and will be appropriate for the role. Salary will be negotiated, but the company has indicated that they are looking for candidates who meet the requirements and seek a salary around $100K per annum.
