Kanata: Saturday Afternoon Special Needs Worker required


Looking for a talented and confident support worker for young adult with Autism and Epilepsy who has minimal speech and communication abilities.
Need someone enthusiastic and creative who enjoys delivering a multi faceted program.
Components of program will vary:
a) facilitating fine motor tasks (cutting, tracing, glueing, painting) and coming up with crafts projects
b) facilitate listening and reading comprehension tasks
c) implement a prop dancing and drumming program to improve imitation and movement skills
d) go for walks and snowshoe when possible
Must not get easily intimidated by behaviors in the autism repertoire
Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience but willing to train those with no previous experience.
Kanata / Stittsville/ Carp/Bells Corners area residents preferred.
Salary commensurate with experience
This is for 3 Saturdays per month from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. and one Sunday afternoon if available
