We are currently looking to hire a Pharmacy Assistant or Technician to join our team on a full time basis.
Responsibilities: – Preparing compliance aids and blister packaging. – Receiving, putting away, maintaining, and counting inventory/stock and other administrative functions. – Identifying and removing expired medication from stock and returning for credit or destruction as required. – Greeting patients and answering and making phone calls to/from patients, doctors offices, suppliers, etc. – Processing, interpreting, and performing any required calculations for dropped off prescriptions using the Kroll Dispensary System. – Correctly adjudicating claims to 3rd party insurers – Counting, preparing, and compounding medications as part of the preparation process. – Operating the cash / POS system (Auto-Star) as well as maintaining the float and closing/reconciling the tills. – Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required to maintain an appropriate skill set. This may include travelling to meetings. – Answering patients questions and referring them to the pharmacist where appropriate. – Maintaining confidentiality at all times in accordance with legislation and standards. – Keeping the workplace clean and tidy on a regular basis.
Experience: – Minimum of 1 year of Ontario community pharmacy experience required. Experience using Kroll software is an asset but not a requirement (new grads working toward registration welcome, will provide training). – POS System – Experience using the Auto-Star POS system would also be an asset but is not required as training will be provided.
