Optimism and challenge seeking are at the top of personal motivators for our future Marketing and Sales Director.The Marketing and Sales Director will be responsible for all corporate and brand-specific marketing, with sales reporting into them. The perfect fit for this position is a marketing professional with experience in the pharmaceutical world with an educated understanding of pharmaceutical sales. The purpose of this role is to combine the oversight of marketing and sales activities to one role with the intent of primarily achieving the corporate budget, increasing organizational efficiencies and improving the operations of the sales and marketing departments.Role ResponsibilitiesMarketing Responsibilities* Establish, monitor, and revise annual marketing budget* Liaise with Quality and Regulatory departments to ensure adherence to Health Canada regulatory standards; for marketing* Establish, monitor, revise, and implement marketing plan for each brand. Engage in the following activities:1. Liaise with stakeholders (consultants, physicians, sales representatives, principals, etc.) to gather information for plans2. Establish plans for promotional events such as conferences, retail store promotions, and CMEs and monitoring results3. Manage design and dissemination of promotional material such as detail aids, samples, and promotional gifts* Establish physician detailing cycle for Sales Force* Evaluate, achieve, and maintain COGS to enable company to achieve projected gross margin. Liaise with appropriate personnel to source suppliers of packaging and manufacturing for all brands, including labels, promotional material, sample and stock packaging. Regular review of COGS and sales (direct sales and sales representatives’ reports), wholesaler, and market data.* Collect and monitor competitor progress* Evaluate new product opportunities* Establish and implement key accounts strategy (at wholesale and retail) to improve distribution.Sales Responsibilities* Manage sales department to achieve objectives* Evaluate and implement regional programs to maximize coverage at all of the following levels:1. Government2. Retail3. Hospital, including GPOs4. Chain accounts5. Physician audience* Implement programs to evaluate sales force performance* Design and implement effective sales force incentive programs* Implement training program for both product knowledge and selling skills* Establish national CME programs for all product categoriesQualifications and Experience* B.Sc.
