Job Description:Consulting opportunity for a Broadcast Technician/Engineer. You will help to manage and expand our four of the most popular cable/specialty TV stations in our markets. You’ll be responsible for supporting playout, IPTV systems, studio, web encoding, nonlinear editing, as well as automation and file sharing system maintenance. This includes providing support for our customer base where needed and maintaining our IP VIDEO services infrastructure. Much of the activity can be handled remotely, but attendance at our physical location in Brampton, ON, will be required on a regular basis. Additional priorities include:Develop preventative maintenance plan, schedule and implement same.Assess faults, prioritize, and report remedies or recommendations.Manage Playout servers & infrastructureLead and project manage new capital initiatives.Recommend, test and install new equipment and systems.Support and maintain our media related IT systems including servers, network infrastructure, and applications.You will have a chance to use your Engineering/technical talents and knowledge to further expand our ability to get content out to our customers in new and evolving ways.In properly maintaining and troubleshooting all related systems, you will allow the production to better perform their functions to provide the best viewer experience possible. What you will bring…Experience with Video over IP solutions/IPTV/BOIP is a MUST. A real passion for working with Video/Audio files and streamingKnowledge of video and audio transcodingKnowledge of playout servers, including PlayboxKnowledge of technical requirements for Social Media PublishingAn excellent aptitude for trouble shootingA willingness to train production teams to utilize implemented technologySpanish speaking a definite asset.
