Registered Practical Nurse



Job Description:We are seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to join our team! You will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to assigned patients. You can choose either full-time or part-time depending on your availability. Job ResponsibilitiesOptimizing each resident’s potential to achieve or maintain maximum functional ability.Provides care in accordance with organization policies and procedures, College of Nurses of Ontario, and other legislation.Facilitates relationships between and among residents, relatives, team members, and the community.Provides for nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN.Utilizes sound nursing practice principles, the RPN will ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).Creates a comfortable and safe environment that provides opportunities for privacy, dignity, autonomy, independence and individuality, and maintenance of personal lifestyle and values.Exercises sound judgment by reporting changes in resident’s status in a timely manner to the Registered Nurse as necessary and takes appropriate action.The Registered Practical Nurse works with the resident, family members, and inter-professional team to collect data for the nursing and provides ongoing assessment and appropriate documentation.Responsible for the safekeeping of drug and narcotic keys in accordance with professional standards and organization policies.Ensures the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, ensures protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.Documents priorities, target dates, and strategies or interventions on the individualized care plan in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for each resident.Ensures the strategies and interventions directed by the care plan are implemented in a safe and effective manner.Work in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.Perform other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONSHold valid license, registration & good standing with the College of Nurses of OntarioHolds current CPR, First Aid certificationUnderstand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the roleDemonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills and decision-making ability;To provide a clear vulnerable sector screen police record, negative TB test results.Company Description:Are you on the search for new work?
