Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years of field experience in a safety supervisory role • NCSO or equivalent designation • Stationed onsite in an active construction environment • Must have practical construction and trades knowledge of processes and safety requirements • Able to identify a wide range of hazards and implement controls on a construction site, while performing a field safety walk • Strong desire to be a part of a fast moving, teamwork environment • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal • Must be confident with public speaking and addressing large groups • Have a clear understanding of OHS legislation • Able to take direction from DMT’s safety manager and project manager and lead staff • Valid Driver’s License with a clean abstract (Please bring a three-year abstract to your interview.) • Local person preferred

Responsibilities:

• Work directly with crew, mentor where required and address safety deficiencies • Liaison to prime contractor • Lead toolbox meetings • Complete site-specific safety paperwork (Confined space plans, fall protection plans, worksite inspections and all other required paperwork) • Organize and submit weekly safety documentation to client • Attend site safety meetings • Communicate and assist staff with identifying and controlling site specific hazards • Take immediate action to correct danger to life or health, report of safety violations or any other worker refusal to conduct unsafe work • Inform and update DMT’s safety manager of all work site information and needs • Other duties as assigned.
