IT Analyst

Methanex is currently seeking an IT Analyst to join their team on a full-time basis in Medicine Hat, Alberta. In this role, you will develop and implement innovative IT solutions to resolve or improve on-site issues and provide direction, guidance, and support of all Information Technology components. The incumbent also provides mentorship to IT staff, in collaboration with the IT Business Relationship Lead. The IT Analyst also collaborates with the Corporate Resources department and other global and regional IT Analysts with respect to routine IT processes and projects. The IT Analyst will report directly to the IT Business Relationship Lead. Ensuring all verbal and electronic support calls are logged in the SDPlus monitoring system. Providing solutions to site IT needs based on approved customer requirements and available budget. Providing ongoing support for all IT systems as well as departmental specific business IT needs. Identifying, developing, and implementing solutions to solve, or improve, business processes at the site. Following up with all customers to ensure satisfaction with services provided. Coordinating global and local support resources to provide routine maintenance to ensure that equipment and software functions efficiently and properly while also collaborating with Global resources on Infrastructure maintenance and upgrades. Reviewing IT systems to ensure that provisions match site requirements. Actively participating in Global IT initiatives as outlined by the IT Business Relationship Lead. Participating in site initiatives and providing insight regarding possible IT solutions for site requirements. Participating in training and information sessions to maintain competence in the IT field. Participating with the IT team in developing and actioning the annual department plan ensuring alignment with the Medicine Hat business plan and Corporate Strategy. Providing mentoring to the IT team with respect to routine operations as well as project assignments. Ensuring compliance of IT systems with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) legislation. Ensuring compliance of IT projects with Methanex Project Standards (MPS). Conducting all business in a manner which supports the Responsible Care ethic. Remaining current with all safety and procedural training related to the role. Actively participating in the site’s behavioural based safety program, Everyone Owns Safety (EOS), by completing safety observations on a monthly basis. in order to qualify for this role, you will have an Undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering or a Post-secondary Diploma in Computer Systems Technology combined with a minimum of 6 years experience in the Information Technology field with industrial experience considered an asset. You will also possess diverse knowledge within the Information Technology field, including networking, hardware and software components, such as: Network & Certification Microsoft Office programs including Office 365 fleet, Project and Visio. Active Directory and a Windows Network environment. Windows SCCM. Variety of Business specific applications. Xerox and HP Printers. NEC phone systems. Experience with Maximo, OSISoft PI, Honeywell PHD, and Delta V would be considered an asset as would project management experience and familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) legislation.
