Full Time Experienced Baker

Labrador is currently looking to hire a fulltime experienced baker to work at our remote location in Voisey’s Bay. This position will require you to work a 2 week on 2 week off rotation. We are seeking a baker who has substantial experience with baking from scratch. The successful candidate for this position will need to be able to fulfill the following job expectations:

JOB TITLE: Baker- casual call in

LOCATION: Voisey’s Bay Mine Site- South Camp

SCOPE: Organize and control a high standard of Kitchen and food services as requested by client

RESPONSIBLE TO: Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR: All night staff

DUTIES TO INCLUDE:

J01 Ensure food services are provided punctually and efficiently and to the standard required by the Company and Client specification J02 On completion of work scheduled, ensure that all areas are monitored with particular regard to hygiene, waste disposal and pest control J03 Responsible for the issue and instruction of correct use of hazardous substances J04 Responsible for stock levels J05 Responsible for on the job training for the carrying out of duties and use of Equipment J06 Establish a cleaning program on an ongoing basis in coherence with Chef J07 Inspect, on a daily basis, accompanied by the person responsible for that area, making sure all work is being done J08 Ensure Company personnel maintain personal hygiene and wear Company uniforms at all times J09 Liaise with management to discuss the day to day operations J10 Assist in the storage and ordering of supplies for the kitchen J11 Report immediately any incidents of fire, accidents, theft, loss or other irregularities and take any remedial action as may be necessary. J12 Ensure that emergency exits are not obstructed within area of control J13 Undertake any duties, as required J14 Attend meetings and training courses as may be necessary from time to time J15 Carry out any reasonable request made by Manager J16 Make sure staff follow all health and safety rules J17 No disciplinary action can be given to any staff member by a lead hand J18 All regular Bakers duties as outlined in production sheets, including homemade breads, cakes and cookies.
