Seeking Employment in Kelowna!

My name is Jessica Nielsen, and I am 24 years old and seeking employment in Kelowna for October 1st, 2018. I have been wanting to move out of Edmonton for a few years, and I’m finally deciding to do it. I have attached my resumes to this ad as well, and this ad will essentially be a way for you to get to know a little about me.

Since I am a very outgoing and friendly person, I feel my most successful role is involved in the customer service area. I have many years of experience in different areas of customer service, ranging from hospitality to reception. I enjoy working with customers as it gives me the opportunity to meet and help people. I find my best work environment is fast paced and highly energetic. I feel a few of my strengths are working well in both team and solo environments, undivided attention to detail and making sure a task is completed to the best of my ability, and in stressful situations I am able to take a step back and address the situation with clarity. A couple areas of weakness that I am currently still building on include becoming too anxious of important upcoming events and overthinking certain situations.

I have also had an opportunity to take leadership in one of my jobs as a team supervisor. I feel this was an achievement for me because I was given this opportunity due to exceeding expectations of my boss, and I felt very honoured for being given this position. Another big achievement I had was with Ainsworth, I was moved in to a customer service role which took me to my estimator position. I was given my own job to estimate a few months after starting this role, and I was awarded a $200,000.00 LED retrofit job. In the end, after a few minor hiccups, the job was profitable and successful.

A few of my hobbies include playing instruments such as guitar and piano, snowboarding, and spending time outside taking landscape pictures of nature. This outlines a reason I chose Kelowna of all places in BC to move. It’s situated right between multiple ski resorts and mountains, and it gives me an opportunity to further my hobbies. In the future, I plan to attend either University of BC or Thompson Rivers University to start my education degree as I have wanted to be a high school teacher since I graduated. If interested in viewing my resume, please feel free to email me or call me during the day before 5 PM at 1+(587)990-7726. I want to thank you for taking the time to read through my cover letter, and I know you have many successful candidates for the job in which I am applying. I hope to hear from you soon, take care!

Sincerely, Jessica Nielsen
