What to Expect as a Sales Development Lead?

 

As a Sales Development Lead you will engage prospective clients and generate leads for our Enterprise Sales Team in strong collaboration with the sales, marketing and account management teams. You will communicate effectively and persuasively to a high volume of C-level people. A Sales Development Lead will be persistent and goal-driven with a strong technical aptitude and communication skills.

Core Responsibilities:

 

  • Work with marketing, sales and account teams to identify and build lists of prospective clients
  • Generate prospective customers through engagement via email, social media and phone calling to create leads/appointments for Regional based Sales & Account Managers
  • Build rapport with prospects by learning about their processes and their challenges, offering resources (webinar invitations, white papers, relevant blog articles, etc.) and understanding where the prospect is in the buying process
  • Gather key information to qualify prospect, update the CRM system and assign a nurture path and follow-up strategy
  • Identify opportunities that meet a minimum qualification criteria for the sales and account management team
  • Use your experience and creativity to maneuver through large organizations and identify decision makers, decision process and business needs
  • Work with the marketing & sales and account management teams to develop and execute targeted outbound lead generation campaigns
  • Educate prospective clients on Talemetry products and be adept at overcoming technical and business objectives
  • Manage a prospecting pipeline within the Talemetry CRM system and maintain accurate prospect and customer information

Qualifications/Education/Experience:

 

  • 5+ years in a sales position in a solution-selling environment, preferably a software company
  • Strong phone-based telemarketing or Inside Sales management experience
  • Energetic, upbeat, tenacious team player with excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to build client relationships over the phone
  • Have met or exceeded personal/team goals and quota
  • Advanced level prospecting and qualification experience within a Sales organization
  • Must be organized, detail and process oriented
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Proficiency with standard corporate productivity tools (Microsoft Office Suite, email, phone skills)
  • Strong email and web search skills
  • Strong social media tools experience  (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook)
  • Ability to use a CRM system and other on-line tools effectively
  • Experience selling to C-level, HR and IT departments is preferred
