Job Description:You are an analytical, detail oriented financial professional with extensive experience in all aspects of financial reporting and management in a not-for-profit environment. You are exceptionally skilled in identifying problems and implementing innovative, efficient solutions that improve company processes and systems. You combine comprehensive knowledge of accounting standards and practices with a “ think outside the box” approach toward business and a positive, collaborative leadership style that enables you to develop productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Our client is committed to: Providing an opportunity to work in an exciting, culturally diverse environment that offers a unique and rewarding work/lifestyle balance.Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer in Rankin Inlet, as Director of Finance, you will: Supervise personnel in providing accounting services including training, scheduling, assigning, reviewing work and evaluating performance.Research, evaluate, develop and recommend general financial policies/procedures/manuals and modifications to existing methods to improve efficacy and efficiency.Prepare of supervise the preparation and review of financial statements, reconciliations and financial reports.Provide analysis, information and appropriate training to company on financial and budgeting issues.Review account activities to ensure accuracy and conformity with applicable controls and guidelines.Prepare and review adjusting entries and schedule for annual audit. Schedule audit and work with auditors to address questions and provide explanations.Monitor account balances of visas, operating accounts and investment accounts for company and associated companies.Prepare reports for the Chief Financial Officer on a regular and timely basis.What the successful candidate will bring: Professional accounting designation, CPA, CA/CMA or CGA with 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting position (preferably in a not-for-profit environment).Strong financial reporting, budgeting and financial analysis skills.Previous finance experience in the north would be preferred.Experience within Sage Accpac 50/300 is an asset.Exceptional oral, written communication and presentation skills.Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively mediate diplomatically and implement effective solutions.Multi-cultural experience with a sensitivity to local, political and cultural aspirations.Awareness and understanding of Federal and Territorial procedures, policies and legislation.In return, what can you expect: Excellent salary and comprehensive benefits package.The opportunity to lead a finance group for a very highly regarded organization with excellent work/life balance and positive work culture.Out of an abundance of caution, we will be conducting preliminary interviews by video conference only.Only candidates already eligible to work in Canada will be reviewed.
