(see http://cnctechcanada.com) located at 1550 Yorkton Crt, Unit 2, Burlington, ON L7P 5B7, provides support and maintenance for CNC machines to a wide range of industries We have a full time permanent vacancy for a CNC Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. Due to changing market conditions and an ever-increasing demand from our customers, we are expanding our services in Toronto and surrounding areas.
The ideal candidate will be tasked with completing onsite CNC repairs at different plants across the GTA and South Western Ontario
Electrical-Related Duties/Responsibilities (80 %)
• Electrical and electronic fault finding and diagnostics
• Installing, inspecting, testing, adjusting, and maintenance and repairing electrical and electronic equipment while following safety procedures
• Retrofitting controls, drives and motors to old machines
• Performing work quality checks and monitor machine output.
• Translating parts drawings into measurements for production.
• Perform electrical and electronic repairs in an efficient manner ensuring machine is operating to stated standards
• Perform regular maintenance in accordance with preventative maintenance schedule
• Identify and correct hardware failures, software discrepancies or programming problems
• Advise on proper use regarding applications, operation and maintenance of machines
• Assist customer to achieve optimum efficiency and machine reliability
• Follow safety, product quality and health and safety Guidelines
• Laser calibration, ballbar diagnostics and vibration analysis onsite
Mechanical Related Duties/Responsibilities (20%) Completed all mechanical repairs of CNC equipment such as:
• Spindle tear-downs and re-builds
• Machine geometry and machine tool alignments
• Head rebuilds
• Machine tool installation
• Spindle taper grinding
• Ballscrew teardown and rebuilds
Education:
• Qualified Industrial Electrician from any jurisdiction
Required Experience:
• Experience repairing CNC machinery independently
• Understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM.
• Completion of courses supplied by machine manufacturer.
• Understanding of electrical / electronic schematic diagrams, blueprints and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of advanced PLC programming such as Allan Bradley or ControlLogix/RS Logix or Siemens S7 or Fanuc or Knowledge of robot systems (ABB, Motoman).
• Basic knowledge of computer networking, Ethernet connections, TCP/IP protocol.
• Ability to evaluate condition of new and damaged mechanical equipment and make recommendations for repair or replacement.
• Good command of English (able to read, write and speak).

• Flexibility to travel within Canada as needed

Wages and Benefits:
• CAD $35 per hour for 40hrs per week
• 2 weeks’ vacation per annum
