Job Description

Reporting to the Foreman, the Industrial Insulator, Turnaround will be responsible for all the insulating duties on industrial scope construction projects. They will ensure work tasks are performed safely in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and company policies.

This position is based in the Cold Lake, AB area on a client site.

Working Conditions

  • Shift schedule – 10 hours per day for 4 days on and 3 days off

  • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions

  • Working in and around noise and dust

  • Working in confined spaces

  • LOA not provided

  • Camp is not provided

  • Travel is not provided

  • Must be clean shaven

  • Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.

  • Long-term maintenance position

Responsibilities

  • Read an interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements.

  • Select the amount and type of insulation to be installed as well as a method of securing the insulation according to the type and shape of the surface, whether or not the equipment is cold or hot, inside or outside, and what the equipment is going to be used for.

  • Measure and cut insulating material and coverings to the required shape and dimensions.

  • Fit insulation around obstructions or shape insulation materials and protective coverings.

  • Install vapour barriers and finish insulated surfaces by applying metal cladding.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma

  • Certified Journeyman Insulator/Apprenticeship ticket

  • Proof of Journeyman Insulator experience required for non-ticketed insulators

  • CSTS-20

  • H2S Alive

  • Emergency First Aid

  • AWP and/or Fall Arrest an asset

  • Ability to work collaboratively

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills

  • Superior focus on customer satisfaction

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Pre-site Drug and Alcohol testing

  • Mask Fit test may be required

Physical Requirements

  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects

  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects

  • Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools
