Heavy Duty Mechanic


Join a solid team in a busy shop, work without limitations and show your skills. A team of two journeymen, an apprentice and a service advisor needs to gain one more qualified, experienced and eager journeyman HD mechanic. We are looking for a team player, capable of working alone, who loves the challenge of diagnostics, has the ability to work on anything, and values the balance of hard work and family time.

Mechanics responsibilities include:

Diagnose and repair customer units; Units include various on-hiway trucks and trailers, farm equipment, construction equipment

Perform engine, transmission and differential rebuilds

Perform electrical diagnostics and repair

Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance inspections and repairs

Perform Alberta CVIP and Out of Province Inspections

Work in shop or at customer location out of service truck; some outdoor winter/rain work will be required

Work with service advisor to ensure streamlined and positive customer experience, effecting repairs in a timely manner

Supervise, guide, and support apprentices

Maintain cleanliness of customer units and work space

Maintain shop equipment as required

Minimum Qualifications:

Red Seal On/Off Road Journeyman Certificate

Class 5 drivers license minimum, air brakes preferred, class 3 or 1 asset.

Clean drivers abstract

CVIP license preferred, tech will be required to obtain upon hiring

Ability to interpret schematics, understand and follow manufacturer diagnostic and repair specifications

Ability to read/write/communicate effectively in English

Able to lift up to 50lbs frequently, up to 100lbs occasionally

Welding, Body work, or automotive experience is an asset

One position available. Wage will depend on qualifications and experience. Start date immediately
