Structural Design Engineer



Job Description:Job Description: Element Consulting Engineers Ltd. is looking for a self-motivated and disciplined individual to fill the position of Intermediate Structural Engineer – Residential & Commercial. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience providing structural engineering design, inspections, and management of structural projects in the residential and commercial sectors. Responsibilities: The Intermediate Structural Engineer can design and manage engineering projects of varying levels of complexity. We are looking for a candidate with the ability to coordinate with other in-house engineers as demonstrated by a successful track record of managing projects from start to finish. The Engineer must be able to provide training, leadership, and support for junior staff. Strong communication skills (verbal and written), and proven experience dealing with other consultants, clients, and governing authorities are required for success in this position. Required Experience & Qualifications:Degree in civil engineering, with emphasis on structural engineering3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in the design and analysis of wood, concrete, steel, and/or masonryEffective verbal and written communication with other consultants, regulatory agencies, and contractorsAttending site meetings and inspectionsExperience in technical writing, including reports, emails, etcAbility to contribute in a team environment and motivate other junior engineers.Works with enthusiasm and dedicationExhibits high degree of integrity and honestyAbility to multi-task to meet project deadlines, while maintaining a high quality of workRegistered as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia with the ability to register in other provinces as well.
