Job Overview

The Skilled Solderer will be required to perform tasks involving physical labour on commercial construction projects and will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment in the construction work site. Siding installers complete the exterior assembly of buildings by installing building envelope (physical separator between the inside and outside of buildings), outside cladding materials (for example, flashings for waterproofing) and trims.

Key Accountabilities

Installation of various air vapour barrier products Installation of light gauge metal framing (Sub-girts, Z-bars, Channels, Hat Bars, ) Installation of various types of insulation (Batt, Semi-Rigid, Board) Installation of Various type of Metal Cladding and Roofing Sheets Install of Insulated Metal Wall Panels, and Roof Panels Installation & Site Fabrication of Composite Aluminum Wall Panel System Installation and Site Fabrication of Various Rain Screen Systems Installation and Site Fabrication of Various Custom Flashings, Closures, fascia and cornice panels Installation of various type of sealant and caulking Ability to assist in measure and properly layout various type of cladding using string lines, measuring tapes, laser levels, and other required tools Operation of manual and power operated site metal working tools to be able to cut, bend, drill, measure, fasten or straighten metal siding, panels and light gauge metal materials Load and unload trucks, trailers and containers with supplies and equipment Operation and use of various types of equipment used for working at heights Understanding and Ability to follow OH&S guidelines, company & site specific safety policies and procedures Keeping work area clean & organized Communicate to Foreman on material quantities Other tasks as required: Maintain clean shaven appearance for respirator use; Keep current on all RFI’s, plans, specs, SI’s and CCN / Change-order’s; Foresee and resolve all coordination / detail conflicts to ensure all schedules are met; Ensure proper material storage; *Soder all panels as required (uniform, straight, consistent penetration, and strength) Job Requirements

Experience and Training

Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures Fall Protection Certificate Knowledge of First Aid and CPR preferred Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and the tools required in various construction processes Skills and Expectations

Ability to start, run, and maintain bench furnace Ability to shape, tin, heat, clean, and use 2 – 4 lbs copper soldering irons Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions Ability to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do a job Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner Effective verbal and listening communications skills Tool List

Pouch or tool bag Measuring tape with Imperial & Metric Aviation snips, Red and Green LG Olfa Knife (WPBS will supply blades) Folding pliers C Clamps 16” combo square Needle nose clamps Hammer Glazing bar Marking utensil WPBS will purchase Cordless drills and impacts; you will be responsible to maintain items from normal ware and tare This position Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and exposed to outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. This position will also be required to perform various laborious tasks and duties and will be expected to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs. The individual will be expected to be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
