Payroll Administrator- South Edmonton-Full-time job position


This is an excellent Payroll Administrator job opportunity, for candidates who have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, know how to effectively problem solve, and possess a solid knowledge of Microsoft Office software. The role will involve performing all functions necessary for the preparation and processing of employee payroll.
Your responsibilities in this role:
-Answer questions and requests related to payroll information
-Retrieve and assess information in order to resolve payroll discrepancies
-Protect confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence
-Provide assistance as necessary for all internal and external audits related to payroll
-Calculate employee federal and provincial income and federal and provincial taxes, unemployment, and worker compensation payments to establish payroll liabilities
-Handle specific weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for department heads
-Review source documents with necessary verification
-Payroll information management via collecting, calculating, and entering data
-Continue implementation of established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations, reporting changes where necessary
-Produce reports after compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
-Reconcile employee deductions and other liabilities as needed
-Track payroll record changes by entering updates in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfer
-Command of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
-Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
-Knowledgeable of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
-Accurate, swift, data entry abilities
-WCB experience highly desired
-Solid understanding of bi-Monthly Payroll
-Proficiency in benefits administration
-T4 experience
-Demonstrated knowledge of ROE
-Relevant experience of 2 years in payroll.
