Nanny/Wedding Venue/Ranch Assistant needed for May 1st – Septemb



Job Overview:Hi there my name is Karli. My husband Clarence and I are looking to employ a nanny working on family ranch near Cochrane, Alberta. We will have a 4 year old, 2 year old and new born at the time nanny begins in May 2023 and will work 30-35 hours until the end of August, and then potential to extend part-time from September – April.Our situation is unique in that we run a sheep ranch and a wedding venue, and because we will also have a newborn, we are looking for someone that is willing to pitch in, in all aspects of our life (the kids, the farm, and the wedding venue)Service Requirements:Nanny Requirments(30-40%):If you are assigned to help with kids for the day, would include bottle feeding infant (very occasional), feeding older kids, playing with them inside and outside, quiet nap times, learning activities, field trips to the zoo/library/indoor play places, etc, general picking up after the kids (with their help), light laundry if there is time. Dinner prep assistance if time permits – the kids will be your #1 priorityWedding Venue Requirements (40-50%)Assist with set up for weekend weddings, this could include assisting with traffic flow, event-specific tasks depending on the wedding, setting up tables/chairs, setting up the bar, checking on the event throughout the evening, prepping washroom trailer, coordinating vendors through the event, etcRanch Requirements (10-15%)This would mostly involve feeding animals (where comfortable) and bringing water, if keen to learn, more opportunities will arise. Transportation:You must provide your own transportation out to the ranch (25 minutes from west end of Calgary), but if you have the children, you would have access to our family SUV to transport the kids. Scheduling/Availability:We are looking for someone roughly 30-35 hours per week (perhaps slightly more on really busy event weekends) and the days would land on Wednesday – Sunday (Monday and Tuesday off for sure, and likely Wednesday some weeks as well. We also understand that the right candidate may have another part-time job in the evening, etc and we are happy to try and work around your schedule. The only things that are truly fixed are the Friday load-in of the weddings and the Saturday wedding days, which would need support, but we only do 15 weddings per year so on the weekends when there is no wedding we can be much more flexible! You will know the event dates before you start your contract.Ideal Candidate: – Great Communication Skills (feels comfortable knowledgeably talking to wedding couples, vendors, etc), can calmy speak to toddlers in a patient and caring way – Flexible and Adaptable – this wedding venue is a very new venture for us, and things are constantly shifting and changing/evolving. Being able to think on your feet and make decisions quickly will be essential – Very nice, and caring person – Can juggle chaos – we are a busy house with lots going on and 2 very active little boys, you will need to be able to embrace the chaos and being a part of that mix. – Dependable and on time – as you can tell we are juggling a lot, and we need to be able to rely on you to show up on time and do the things you say you will do. – University student looking to gain event experience, specifically in the wedding field would likely be a very good fit.Future Opportunity: – if we have a great summer, there would be potential to extend to a more part-time basis through Sept – April and we would be hiring someone more full-time each summer (May-August)How to Connect:Please email:…@….com to send resume, or with any questions.Please visit to view full details and to apply.
