Job Description:POSITION DESCRIPTION Reporting to the Director, Learning and Engagement, and working collaboratively with the Engagement team, you will create bold, inspiring, and engaging marketing and communications materials and lead innovative digital strategies in support of advancing the organization’s mission, brand, and reputation across a variety of digital channels. You are a creative individual who thinks of new ways to find and convert customers through digital channels. You love automation and know how to leverage technology to improve our marketing reach. You have initiative and are ready to put your skills to work! Areas of focus: digital marketing, social media, marketing, communications, website development and maintenance (WordPress), and graphic design, etc. Social Mediacontribute to strategy development and tactical execution for online and social media campaigns for diverse audiences in support of The Federation with the purpose of maximizing awareness and advancing member engagement, stewardship, and recognitionDevelop and launch creative content across all social channels Digital advocacy and storytelling – through imaginative, bold, and creative graphic design, photography, animated graphics, and editing you will give our stakeholders reasons to talk about The Federation through educational, memorable, and influential contentMonitor, collect and report on social media key performance indicatorsProvide live social media support at all Federation Events Website Development and MaintenanceUpdate website content, maintain and improve website functionality while adhering to web design best practicesContinue to evolve and improve user interface and experienceMaximize search engine optimizationMonitor and collect website key performance indicators Graphic DesignCreate and produce visually engaging, pleasing, and effective designs in a variety of media formats including but not limited to photos, social media graphics, advertising, infographics, and webDesign, update, and maintain marketing collateral and resource materials for The Federation applying the appropriate brand elementsBuild The Federation’s visual asset library like our stock photo library AdminUpdate the CRM database dailyPrepare and provide summary reports as requestedContribute to organizational strategy and policy developmentTake actions to minimize risks and maximize opportunities for The Federation.Assist in all Federation eventsFill for the Communications and Marketing Coordinator as neededOther duties as required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of digital marketing, social media, marketing, communications, website development and maintenance (wordpress), and graphic designKnowledge of cloud-based software, especially Office 365 and database managementKnowledge of CRM’s and Marketing Automation softwareKnowledge of HTML and experience with analytical toolsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong desire to promote the value of communityAbility to communicate effectively, both verbal and written QUALIFICATIONS:Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, or a related fieldExperience in non-profit marketing or communicationsExperience in community organizing and mobilizationExperience in a member-based organizationThis position will require occasional evening and weekend work as neededCompany Description:The Federation of Calgary Communities serves more than 230 small non-profit organizations, including the 151 community associations.
