The Ameresco Technology Solutions team partners with leading solar, smart grid, and electric vehicle equipment manufacturers to enhance their offerings with our asset management and analytics software. To support this growing and dynamic field, we are seeking a Data Acquisition and Controls Technician. As a Data Management and Controls Technician you will be configuring, programming, commissioning, performing system verification and supporting electronic end devices and third-party integration devices used for energy management and distributed energy systems. You should possess good working knowledge and passion for software, electronic technology, and networking. The technologies you will support include meters, wireless metering, data acquisition, software, and monitoring technologies used to display and manage energy usage and renewable energy generation. Most importantly, the solutions you will support are intended to have a positive social and environmental impact and include: Building Performance, Solar PV, Energy Management, Demand Response, wind generating units, Battery storage, Electric vehicles , Biomass generators ResponsibilitiesInspect, test & troubleshoot low voltage power equipment and systems, network communications, end devices, peripherals, and sensors as part of the commissioning process.Integrate data acquisition systems, end to end verification and report any anomalies.Assist in verifying the installation, commissioning, and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and systems related to the data acquisition systems. Utilizing software, simulate sequence of operations to verify proper operating parameters of systems and their performance.Programming of equipment via software and verify system performance.Provide commissioning verification checklists to the Project Manager on conclusion of commissioning projects.Verify network connectivity and integration to third-party systems.Provide on-going support andPerform other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized course work or equivalent training and experience.Minimum 1 years experience with automation systems, HVAC, electrical and energy concepts, building operations, programming, databases, networking, data analytics and commissioning will be considered an asset. Additional Qualifications:Associate degree in Computer Science, Instrumentations and Controls, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Electronics Technology.Proficiency in Visio, strong PC and good communication skills.Expertise to maintain detailed accurate records and prepare necessary reports.Skills to perform work within generally defined parameters.
