Job Purpose:
While reporting to the Site Superintendent, Carpenter & Apprentices will ensure that high quality performance and compliance to project standards is maintained while following safety and industry protocols.

• Carpentry and General Laboure work
Core Competencies:
• Accountable for following ERK CONSTRUCTION INC. and client safety requirements and practices
• Work closely and communicate with the Superintendent on a regular basis to ensure your site operates smoothly
• Maintain a visible and engaged presence on the site and act as a leader in safety
• Ensure your work and the work around you meet the quality and care that is needed
• Ensure worksite is kept clean and orderly
• Tools and equipment are maintained, and in safe working order
• Work efficiently, responsibly, and professionally and maintain positive relationships with all project stakeholders and employees on site
• Follow blueprints and building plans
• Concrete form work
• Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding, doors and hardware
• Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, and other materials
• Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes
• Help erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes
• Operate Mobile Equipment safely
• Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
• Instruct and direct laborers and other construction helpers
• Perform general Laboure on site as needed
Employment Requirements & Qualifications:
• Your own reliable transportation is a must as you may be working on different sites
• A minimum of 2-4 years’ demonstrable work experience in commercial construction
• High school diploma, enrollment in, or completion of, Apprenticeship Program and/or equivalent experience in the trade
• Current AWP, Fall Arrest, First Aid are assets
• Competence in operating mobile equipment
• Retail Petroleum construction experience and knowledge of POST (Petroleum Oriented Safety Training) is an asset
• With projects across Western Canada travel and out of town will be expected
